Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are almost ready to welcome our amazing scholars into the building on September 10th!! A special welcome to our newest students in the 9th and 10th grades – we are all very excited here at MCSM to start a brand-new school year with you and the rest of our school family. We are ready to educate and INSPIRE our students to be the leaders and problem solvers of tomorrow.
Morning Entry Routines: Start Time of School is 8:30 am.
· Students report back to school on Thursday, September 10th.
· On the first day of school, students must enter through the front main entrance doors on Pleasant Avenue
· During the year, 9th and 10th grade students must enter the school building through the cafeteria in the rear of the building.
· During the year,11th and 12th grade students must enter through the front main entrance doors on Pleasant Avenue.
Student Programs Fall 2026:
During the week of August 31st, all parents and students should be able to view their child’s schedule on their NYCSA account. Check and update your account to receive important information via text/email. If you do not have a NYSCA account, Ms. Santiago can provide them to you. She will be available beginning August 31st from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm. You may contact her at Zsantiago@schools.nyc.gov or at 347-668-2248.
On the first day of school all students will immediately begin following their schedules and reporting to classes.

· Tuesday, September 15th: Parent Teacher Association Meeting (6 p.m. in the Library/also held virtually)
· Thursday September 24th: Virtual Town Hall/Curriculum Night
· Saturday October 17th: Family Fall Fest
PROSE Days, New For 2026-2027 School Year:
MCSM will have a modified half-day schedule, where students will only be in attendance from 8:30 am-11:40 am. On those days, students will take standards aligned assessments, and leave school for lunch. The cafeteria will be open from 11:40 am-12:30 pm. Teachers will be in professional development sessions from 12:30 pm-2:50 pm. No afterschool activities will take place on PROSE days. Please mark your calendars accordingly.

School Supplies:
Your child’s subject teachers will provide their own supply lists. The lists may vary for each teacher, so we ask that you buy school supplies after your child’s teacher provides their list. Physical Education uniforms will be available for purchase during the first week of school during your child’s Physical Education class. The following are the prices for each item: No personal checks/only cash or money order made to MCSM will be accepted!
